I did use a URO brand product, did I make a judgement error by going budget?

Pelican is from where I purchased mine. A little more $$$? Yes. However, their website has so much valuable information... how tos... etc... that I consider it a small cost. Now... if the disparity in pricing, compared to their competitors, is off the chart... then I'll look elsewhere.

If it is any solace, I found that its easier the second time around.

In terms of pricing, over the long haul and for a lot of different parts, Pelican's pricing sort of averages out - they might be a little higher on some items but they were also cheaper on other items.

I’m in the same boat as you. Replaced with URO sos and it seems to be bad again. I’ll keep a close eye on it for the next couple of days.
