386 Speedster Homage

I just came across this Boxster that has been "re-imagined" into a 356-style speedster called the "386 Speedster Homage".

I did a couple of searches but didn't find that it had been posted previously. What do you think?

Dang I like it! Most modded bodies look like crap but this is nice. Kind of 356 meets Kharman Ghia meets 986.

Very well done. EXCEPT Fuchs wheels aren't a piece of either generation, and IMHO just don't complement the look but scream for attention and draw the eye away from the car.

Imagine how many hours of fab work it took. It looks very clean. I wonder if it has any cooling issues? It must be a base model without a center radiator?

Their website says the more appropriate wheel style is coming soon. I like it but is there sufficient airflow to the front radiators and engine compartment? It needs a Mobil Pegasus decal on the front fender to finish it off!

It is more like an Outlaw 386 (oh oh...Intel might jump on it) Speedster.
Pretty clean. Proportions look good. I noticed the chrome door trims right away, but it looks like they used the same approach like I did. I wish they would have fabricated them...I would give them a call.
Thumbs up from me as well. Although it reminds me somehow of a Bentley Continental (at least the trunk area). Looks huge.

And the wheels? Well, same old saying…"The wheels maketh the car"

Definitely needs chromed steelies for wheels. The sweet old style center locks would be awesome.

What is with the big metal rivets in seats these days? Just not a fan. The car looks awesome. I would love to see a full build video or series of pics to see what went into that. Well done!

Man, I would love to watch a full build video! It takes a lot of talent to do that level of work.

I had the same though about both of these. Must have some mega trick duct work, fans, etc taking air in under the front fascia.

I like the execution on this example far better. For that kind of money though, you could have a really nice original.

Personally, I also like the Starke version better than this one but would have to agree with Rex that $150K will buy a really nice original.

I agree. The Stark is more true to the original, and I suppose the desire would be new, modern mechanicals. But yeah, for the $$$ I’d just buy an original.
