Need help with power source to connect portable GPS

I've been trying to search on this, but can't find any posts. Just bought a Pioneer portable GPS. It comes with a cigarette lighter adapter at one end. What I would like to do is somehow tap into a power source that will turn on only when the car is running (radio would probably be the best).
Could someone please help point me to a previous post, or tell me what's the best way to do this? Thank you in advance.

Depending on what you are driving, there is a cell phone power cable behind the center stack in front of the gearshift level (behind batwing). Access thru side panel. Has 12 volt switched and unswitched (plus ground and mute).

You can buy a cable from Becker that plugs in, or just tap in.

There have been posts on this, pretty sure. I did quick look, but did not find either.
