turbo Boxster?

Hey
Has anyone replaced the front bumper of their 986 with one from a 996 Turbo?
If not, could it work?
Thx

Yes, someone has.

Yes, it's been done. Here's some that were for sale a while back with pics.

Whoa! Not so fast...

A 996 turbo doesn't have the same headlights as our 986 Boxsters. Isn't a turbo 996, regardless of year, going to have the Gen II 996 headlights?

What Jon is showing above are GT3 Gen I bumpers - they are a direct swap. Turbo bumpers not so much.

I've seen pictures of 986 Boxsters with the Turbo bumper and Gen II 996 headlights, I don't know what other internal parts under the bumper cover have to be changed, perhaps radiator ductwork?

It's a bit more complicated. Here's a thread from awhile back. Me personally, I love the look. I'd like to find a '03-'04 986S with some light front end damage. Do this to the front and a Z-top.

Why? Because the purists and the PCA breakfasts would have fits trying to figure it all out. :D

Wow, it needs new front fenders and fender liners too, that's hard core!
