Color and Personality
I saw this on AOL this afternoon and thought it was interesting :
In Great Britain there was actually some research done that suggested that the colour (they really like that spelling for some reason) of your car says something about your personality type. And accordingly, based on your personality type, your likeliness to be involved in an accident (in the U.K. at least). That research showed that black cars are twice as likely to be involved in crashes as cream-color cars. Whether this is true in the United States is unclear. Here is what it said about certain car colors (listed in order of most dangerous to least)* Black cars denote an aggressive personality or someone who's an outsider or rebel. Silver cars indicate someone who's cool, calm and slightly aloof. Green cars can often be chosen by people with hysterical tendencies. Yellow cars signify someone who is idealistic and novelty loving. Blue cars are chosen by the more introspective, reflective and cautious driver. Gray cars represent those who are calm, sober and dedicated to their work. Red cars denote those who are full of zest, energy and drive and who think, move and talk quickly. Pink cars are chosen by gentle, loving and affectionate drivers. White cars represent status-seeking extrovert drivers. Cream cars are the least likely to be involved in accidents and denote self-contained and controlled owners. *Quoted from the “Fun at Work” blog by Robin Thompson who quoted from an article in the June 20th 2005 edition of the Register-Herald in Beckley, West Virginia. Thanks, Nick |
I guess I am an outsider then...or a rebel! :D

to put it in English Parlance....
what a load of rubbish!! Actually the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
reasons you ask (as if you can't think of any!!) Different cars look better/worse in specific colors. I love the Cayman S in yellow, but I sure would never buy a 3 series in yellow. You buy a used car that you want, but the best specimin isn't in the color you would like the "best". What if you have several cars in different colors, that means you are schitzophrenic?? These "researchers" have too much time on their hands!! I tend to like yellow cars, but I have only had one, my first a 72 Malibu. I have 2 black BMW's, and a silver Boxster. Had a silver BMW. had a red Saturn. Had a "plum" Saturn. Had a green T-Bird. I guess I need Mental Health Help. |
I have black, red, silver, white, blue, cream and green. What personality type is that???

How about they do something that may be a little more useful like what color were the cars of the typical murderer or serial killer? This way I can avoid those color vehicles at all cost. The last thing I want to do is pull up to some old lady in a turquoise (sp?) Ford Taurus and have her pull a Glock on me... And to top it off it could've been avoided if someone had warned me that turquoise vehicles are an indicator of "most likely to go postal"... ;)
With my luck it would turn out to be green and/or black which is the color of everything I have owned since college... Then again, maybe people would stay out of my way??? :D |
try a google search for "Ted Bundy's car" :D
