Rattle Noise Coming from Rear Driver Side
I have searched the forum and just can't seem to find the post about rear passenger side rattle. The sound seems to come from the left side airvent but don't know what causes it.

Hey,
Check your heat shield. Its just a piece of metal to the right of your exhaust system on the passenger side and I believe it's the welding that lets go and makes it rattle. Frank |
I wonder if it is the same rattle I have been hunting. I believe mine to be the washers on the cam locks for the engine cover...
But which side is your rattle coming from? In the thread title you say "Driver Side" and in your post you say "passenger side"? |
I'm sorry,I'm almost positive both sides have a heat shield.

Passenger side rattle
I also had intermittent rattle from passenger side. First it was a loose screw (there were a couple of screws with plastic caps that are about the size of a quarter). The second time, I concluded that it was the seat belt clip that was banging against the plastic body of the car. There is no rattle, if I buckel up the passenger side seat belt. Any way to cushion the passenger side seat belt clip?

found my rattle
wound up being the hard styro-foam mat under the rear trunk carpet.

I also experience a rattle sometimes but only while driving the car before it is fully warmed up. It is very strange...

As for the passenger seat belt, my car came with felt pads glued on to them, I guess the previous owner did it if its not factory. It is like the soft side of velcro/kinda felt like, but gray to match and about 1 inch by 2 inches. Ive never heard any rattles so I guess it works.
