Horn stopped working. SRS errors

The title may give it away... I wonder who would be first to suspect the unusual offender.

Long story with many twists, but I will start from the end. Kind of.

When I picked the car up from body shop after paint correction, I found airbag error. I presumed it was disconnecting the side airbags or seats when battery was still connected.
Durametric did not clear the error.
Dealer tells me - SRS unit is fried. Weird. Does not make much sense... I did not invest in repair yet.

However, days before going to the dealer, my horn stopped working. Not sure when exactly, but it would not respond at all.
Fuse? OK - resistance and current flow OK
Relay? OK - bench tested - clicks fine, swapped with radiator that worked - still no horn.

I am testing all of it and I still cannot hear the relay to click once I press the horn.

So what else?
I thought - maybe the switch in the steering wheel.

Pulled the airbag off. Wires seems OK. Just to double check contacts... and no flow from the cables inside the wheel to the connector on the column. Weird...

At this point - what else is left?

Clock spring.
Who would think?

Yes, I opened it up. Pulled all out.
Found one sections that was bent 180 degrees, completely kinked to the point the wires lost contact.

Now, the rest of the long story.
Last year I replaced the broken turn signal stalk. All of them.
The unit came with the clock spring. I followed the directions how to assemble it and all seemed OK.
I guess it must have been messed up before I received it... as the damage looked very old.

Since I had the original one, I simply swapped them, but before doing that I opened it up and verified the tape. It is all clean and smooth.

I will update on the SRS once I put all it together as I am working through the window drop as well.
