First Porsche - Stuck at gas station
I just purchased my first Porsche a 2000 Boxster and it runs great but yesterday I got stuck at the gas station after filling it up. The car would not start after I filled it up, it would just crank. If I pushed the pedal while it was cracking it would start, run rough and just die a couple seconds later.
After about 15 minutes max sitting the car started and ran fine. When I purchased the car it has a CEL with P0446. I have cleared the code and changed the gas cap before I went to the gas station yesterday so the gas cap was not an issue. I did not get a CEL back on since the problem with starting the car yesterday. Any idea what my next part to check/replace should be? Looking around I see others talking about the EVAP shut-off valve, EVAP Purge Valve (Which I can not find the part to order) or the Fuel Tank Bleeder Valve. Any input is appreciated. |
does the tach jump while cranking? If not, could be a bad Crank position sensor

Bad EVAP purge valve.

This one (under the left side intake manifold): https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bosch-parts/purge-valve/0280142300sj/ Search for the part number (bosch 0280142300SJ) and you can find it for less than $30. ;) Sometimes they can just be blown out/cleaned, so you may want to try that first. |

The part I took of the car did not seem bad but had a part number I never seen in my research so I assume it was changed at some point before. But thanks for the part number and advice on what to change. |
Does this require removing the left intake manifold?
