Remove swirls by hand

I would like to remove some swirls from my wif's Cherokee.
I purchased the Sonus swirl remover only to find out that the Porter-Cable is recommended.
Well, I haven't purchased one yet.

I tried applying it by hand and didn't get good results.
Is there any product that works well if applied BY HAND? Or am I just wasting my time?

Terry-

Try Zaino. I apply it by hand. Z-5 is great for swirl marks. Check out their website. http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc

zaino z5 does a nice job to fill the swirl marks up, for a while. It does not _REMOVE_ them.

To remove them you have to polish the clear coat. Can't imagine doing that by hand.

Mark.

To properly remove swirls, you really need a polisher, followed by a glaze.

If you really needed to though, im sure you could get away with using 3m's polish by hand, followed by the appropriate glaze.

Best results obviously with a polisher (wool wheel) , and a foam pad on a DA however.

I guess when swirls show up on the Cayman or Boxster I will spring for the PC.
Since its JUST a Jeep I'm looking for a quick way out.
