water getting into cabin

Hi have just traced where the water is getting into passenger footwell and am wondering why.
I noticed the pollen filter wet, so took it out, and their is water in the housing. So covered the filter area with plastic sheet and after rain today checked it and no water got in. So why does the pollen filter plastic cowling that clips over the filter not keep the rain out, as it must of before the leak started, strange

Are you sure your front drains are completely clear and running properly?

What year Boxster? I took my 986 through hurricanes and no issues. So it isn't normal. So what changed? How/where you park?
