Water pump

Hi so I have a boxster s 2000 (manual) and my water went out, I thought i would just have to replace it but when I got the old one out it was chipped so then I started looking for the pieces and didn’t find any I reverse flushed it and check every single hose and nothing is there no pieces whatsover, So I was wondering if anyone had the same issue and ended up slapping the new water pump on and driving it?

When I changed mine (original), the impellers were worn down to almost nothing. I didn't see any pieces, I suspect it just degraded slowly over time.

And how long have you been driving it after that and we’re there any problems?

How many miles I running on it now and we’re there any problems?

About a year/10k miles since the change, I've had no issues.

Usually the missing pieces get lodged in the small coolant passages in the cylinder heads.

2000-2001 cylinder heads are thin castings to save weight & cost so they will crack causing oil & or coolant leaks, so find the pump pieces now even if you have to pull heads. Or pull them later after they crack from the blocked coolant passages overheating the head.
