Break In Oil

What break in oil should I use for a Porsche motor ?

I’d use a Porsche approved 5w40 or 0w40 and change it after a couple of hundred miles of break in driving.

Didn't you buy one of the LN motors? I'd use their recommendation.

Good info attached discussing break in oil, but call LN.

I thought LN used Joe Gibbs Racing's DT40 oil? They also have a break-in oil that is recommended as a flush before switching from Mobil1 to their DT40. Definitely check with the mechanic who did the work. You don't want to void any warranties.

I did buy one of L&N engineering's motors . It was on sale so it is not supplied with the oil you have to buy it separately and there are many flavors .And motors on sale only have a 90 day guarantee. 2 year warranty is 5k more. I did call and am playing phone tag with them. Thanks guys

Go to LN's website, it tells you what to use & how to use it.

90 day warranty eh... hmm, now that is serious confidence in their rebuilds...

When Flat-6 delivered my car after rebuilding my engine it had Joe Gibbs Racing HR in it. I was told to use that for 2,000 miles then change over to DT40. I've used that ever since.

But I would follow whatever LN says to use.

Reduction in cost = reduction in warranty. Pay full price if you want the full warranty. ;)
