New windshield is in

I had my new windshield installed on Tuesday and today was the first day I could take it out for a drive. The windshield is PGW or Pittsburgh Glass Works, what used to be PPG glass. The installer did a great job, the fit is excellent and there is no distortion in the glass that I can see. I bought new exterior 2 piece trim for the windshield from a local Porsche dealer as I didn't want to use the installer's generic rubber seal. My glass insurance is going to cover that cost as well. Here's to hoping this windshield lasts for the next 15 years!

It is stuff off the trees. We just moved and I need to unpack and organize the garage so I can get the Boxster in there!

You know there is so much crap in the air, it won't take long for minute scratches to wind up on the windshield from wiper blades moving dirt you cannot see. Rain X might be of interest, and leave the wipers off when raining. I cannot remember when I have had my wipers on.
