Service Records

So, I bought my 2001 used obviously. I was wanting to find out what had been done previously. I had the carfax report and called up the dealers where the repairs were done. They were more than happy to tell me what had been done to it, by them. Found out the water pump, coolant reservoir and AOS has already been done. I know there are some repairs that were not logged and I am still trying to figure out how to find out about those, but I thought I would pass it along to anyone who purchases and used Boxster and wants to try to find out some old records.

Happy driving,
Chris

That’s awesome. I asked about that a couple of weeks ago on here and the general consensus was that they were going to tell me to go to hell because those records are private. I’ll be making some calls this afternoon. Thanks

Hello Chris,

Do you know how long and how many miles ago, was the O2 pump was replaced..?

I believe that you are supposed to replace it every 40k miles and 4 years of age, (however not 100% sure about the aging pump)

Gilles,
It was replaced at 73K in 09, so it has been a while. I agree it will be due, assuming it was not replaced again by a PO. Regardless, it is nice to know that it has been replaced at least once. Thank you for pointing it out that it might be due again. I appreciate it.

Chris
