Sway bars
Will S model sway bars fit on a base? If so is it worth changing them?

Yes, the S front sway bar will fit the Base model. The front S sway is 21% stiffer than the Base stock sway. The M030 is 9% stiffer.
The 996 GT-3 sway bar in the front and the Tarett 986 sway bar in the rear are both adjustable. As you can see from the chart below, the front GT-3 sway is 66% to 225% stiffer than the Base sway (depending on the setting). Do a search and/or ask for feedback from the Forum to find which sway bar will meet your needs best. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1528505401.jpg |
Great chart. I have an S with standard, plan on ROW M030 set up next year. But this chart will help comparing sway bars too.

Tom, unless im reading it wrong, the standard s swaybar is only 5% stiffer than the base bar. The m030 s bar is 21% stiffer

Also, not sure i am reading correctly the rear S ie 3.2l standard is same diameter as the non S. So am i reading this correctly?

The base M030 is the same as the standard S and both are 9% stiffer than the base bar. The M030 S is 21% stiffer than the base bar. |

I have a base 987 rear sway bar on mine. It's cheaper and easier to find than a M030
