Found in passenger footwell
I found this screw. Torx head and ~1/2 inch long ... can anyone identify it?http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1527639598.jpg
Thanks in advance! |
Lots of these used in our cars, but based on where you found it my guess would be either in the dash for the stereo, one of the pieces attaching to the roof frame, or the roof latch.
|
Probably from the plastic caps on the end of the seat rails.
|
Is that one of the screws for the door panel? The foot well is a great place to put screws and other parts when you are taking something apart... Like the door panel.
|
Looks like a door panel screw.

That's a fat little stubby screw, right?
Look at the door at the latch area on the end of the door where it meets the vertical part of the jam on the car. Do those screws look similar? |

It's too small compared to the top latch screws etc. I did clean and reinstall my Lloyd's mats and they have a seat rail connector, but I can't even see where a screw would filt there; it's snap together ... Thanks! |

There are 3 but can't remember exactly legths, one under door release, one under the small .5" wide cover on the pull handle, and one under the light. If you have door speakers could be from the speaker box also, they are the same as that one there are 4 that hold the speaker enclose to the door. |
Well, if it's a door panel screw, it's well concealed. I have rich shag carpeting on the bottom half of the door, around the speaker. I can't see where a screw would fit, much less where the existing screws are:)
|
Yeah they are concealed. One is under the plastic cover where the door handle is located, on the door panel pull handle there is a small plastic piece you remove to access another, and the other one you have to remove the actual door light like to change the bulb its located under there.
For the speaker boxes in the door, pretty much have to remove door panel, could be someone had the boxes out missed putting one back in. But as mentioned these cars have a lot of those holding things together. |
Bush screw? :D
