Reverse swap question

Got an interesting question to ask on behalf of another owner.

He has a 2000 996 with a bad engine. I have found a number of 2000-2002 Boxster engines (both 3.2 and 2.7) available. I have read through the Pelican Parts article on swapping a Carrera engine into a Boxster.

What about the other way? A Boxster into a Cayman? The 3.2 engines are at least $4k cheaper than a similar condition 3.4L. If I read the tech article correctly as long as I stay between 2000 and 2002 there is no real difference other than displacement between a Carrera and Boxster engine. Both use 7.2 DME and no VarioCam + to worry about. This would be a longblock swap only.

Thx for your time.
