So say if i were to remove the battery from my Key FOB, I would not have to goto the dealer to reprogram the keyless entry buttons on the fob to work with my car????

The KeyFob's memory is non-volatile, so if the battery dies, all you need do is replace it and nothing will be lost. If this is a major concern, replace the battery now, so you know that it's fresh. The type of Battery required is:

• '97/'00 - 625U, 1.5V
  '01/'06 - Lithium CR 3032, 3v
