Battery Check Light
Hey All,
Have a 2001 Boxster S that I just pulled out from storage. Unfortunately when I replaced the battery, I put it in backwards and had a quick series of sparks, before realizing my mistake and reinstalling correctly. As a result, the rear fuse on my radio went (which I have replaced and it is now working) and I now have a battery check light. Otherwise the car is functioning normally (note: the windows, top are operating slowly I believe directly from the battery.) To fix I removed and replaced the voltage regulator on the alternator as my searches for a remedy indicated. NO luck, no charge coming to the battery from a voltage meter reading and dash light still illuminated. I also checked the fuses in the foot panel and all are good. What would be my next steps? - Replace the alternator completely? Is there a fuse/ relay that I have missed to check first? Thanks in advance. Cheers |
You have one or more blown diodes in the alternator.

Take it to a store that does battery and alternator checking.
