New Engine-- Any rebate on Ext. Waranty??
Porsche Aust. are replacing my engine under an existing Extended Waranty. However, since the new engine will have I presume a 2 year waranty is it not reasonable to expect the the next years ( due Oct.) Ext. Waranty to be cheaper by the proportion of the new engine waranty?
Has anybody had this situation and what would be a reasonable portion of the waranty to to deduct for a new engine. I haven't broached this with Porsche yet because I want to try and get a feel for what has happened elsewhere. As an aside I have to say this is one of the best Forums I visit -- well done Guys & Gals! Cheers, Glenn " from Downunder" |
No personal experience, but from what I gather Porsche replacement engines come with a 2 yr unlimited mileage warranty.
You will probably have to check with your dealer regarding any extended warranty discounts because of the new engine separately warrantied by Porsche. I would expect that you paid in full for your extended warranty when you signed up for it, so they are already in the hole for the price of the engine, less the price of the warranty. Additional discounts would seem to me to be not in the cards. |
