Need 18” tires that will provide the most comfortable ride and modestly priced. Not concerned about high speed performance but tires that will channel water best. A daily commuter ride.

Are you looking for summer tires, or all-seasons? Seeing as you're in NC I would imagine all-seasons if you're not putting it away for the "winter". Also, how many miles do you normally drive it in a year?

I put on a set of Goodyear F1 Asymmetrical All Season in 2016 before taking an extended trip that involved driving through a lot of weather changes. These tires are smooth, quiet and perform well in the rain. They are a great all around touring tire but are not performance tires. Should fill your needs.

For a DD all season tires make a lot of sense. They shed water well, run quiet, last a long time.

These would be my first choice: BFGOODRICH - G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S

followed by Michelin A/S 3

I'd vote for Michelin A/S 3. I have them on my 911SC and they drive well in rain and last a long time.

Discounttiredirect has the current Pirellis AS tires. Tire Rack reviewed them. They are $667 w/free shipping but there is a $100 rebate from Discount Tire and a $70 rebate from Pirelli. Seems like a good deal on a tire that Tire Rack liked as a A/S.

I just purchased some 18 inch tires for my 2000 911 via TireRack.

The tires are Kumho Ecsta PS91. The staggered set cost me a total of $416.70 shipped.

I usually buy Sumitomo HTR IIIs or IIs.
We will have to see if this set is as good as the Sumitomos.

So, I'm a big proponent of having two sets of wheels - one with summer tires, and one with winter. If you don't have much of a winter, you can probably replace the winter with all-season. Running your tires in only the temperatures they were intended for will increase the life, and you can be sure you'll always have best performance.

I've had a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports on my 986 for a couple weeks now and I've been thrilled. Better than any all-seasons I've had in the past in the rain too. I know all tires feel their best when new, but these have definitely exceeded expectations so far.

Heard nothing but good things about those Firestone Indy 500s too. Looks like an incredible bargain, I'll probably get a set for my 924 once I get caught up on maintenance.

Never been a big fan of all-season tires in general, but I've still had a few over the years. My favorites were the Hankook Ventus Noble on my old Infiniti G35. Good price point too.

AS3+ are very good tires, i had them on my last car. However if you are looking for "value" for dollar, look at the General G-Max AS05 tires. VERY reasonable price, with rebate on tire rack about $480 for all 4! and General tires are actually pretty good. They are new so reviews are few but the ones out there are great. I have a buddy with the last version AS03's and they were actually very good tires.

certainly the AS3+ will give you slightly better performance but you can buy 2 sets of the Generals per set of AS3+

I am ordering a set of the Generals for my newly acquired 18's and reserving my 17's for sticky "track focused" tires for HPDE and an occasional autocross. Once i have the new tires i'll report back but it wont be for a month or so when it warms up a bit more here in CT.

For street tires, I like cheap. Either I burn them up or I age them out (and throw them away.) I got Riken Raptor ZR. Summer tires, nice, sticky, and most of all cheap. Burn 'em up!

All season tires for good all around and wet weather performance. I've had experience with these models, and I would recommend any of them:

Cooper Zeon RS-3A
Falken Azenis FK450
Yokohama Advan AS-3A

All are attractively priced, too, and if you buy around the Memorial Day or Thanksgiving holidays, you can benefit from some attractive factory rebates.
