Convertible top will not move

Hello,

I searched around and have some ideas, but I could use some more detailed help.

The convertible top will not retract (terrible time of year for this problem in Arizona!!). Anyway, when I set the parking break, pop the upper latch, the windows start coming down. So that part of the system seems to be working.

Then when I press the button to engage the motor, the top does not move.

I'm thinking:
1. bad motor
2. bad switch
3. possible a blown fuse
4. Parking break relay problem (but considering the windows come down...)

Thoughts on what I should dig into? And can you help me understand how to dig into whatever you are going to tell me to do.

Thanks!!

Read your manual and put the top down and up manually.

If the light for the parking brake comes on when you set the brake, the switch is good.
Check the Top Relay. Pull it out, make sure the pins are clean. give it some 'gentle taps'.

Worst case, go manual top 'till you can get it repaired:

You set the parking brake but is the parking brake light on the dash coming on?
Certainly check you fuse for the top.
Given you hear nothing tells me that there is a microswitch that is unhappy. Latch and unlatch top. There are two microswitches in the latch receptacle, one drops the windows and one is part of the top activation circuit. I doubt the motor just went bad.

Ok yes the parking light annunciation does come on when I set the break.
