Disconnected electrical socket under seat

Dear Enthusiasts,

I found a disconnected electrical socket under my passenger seat. The main wire itself forks into 2. One looks like the ground wire which is attached to a bolt on the body beneath the seat. The other is a black 2-pin socket hanging loose. I could not figure out where to hook it back to. This could be the culprit that's causing my air-bag light to stay lit. Otherwise, it may be the seat-belt receptacle.

Please advice on where this one socket hooks to.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Sounds like the seatbelt harness to me. This will throw an airbag light if disconnected because the seatbelt is part of the restraint system...

If it's a 986 Boxster, I believe the 2nd unconnected electrical plug under the passenger seat is for the airbag deactivation bar for the child restraint seat. If you have access to the technical service bulletins, TSB 6923 shows a drawing of the electrical plugs beneath the passenger seat.
