AOS clamp
 

I'm doing an IMS/Clutch/AOS job and one of the clamps for the lower vent line was brittle and broke while I was removing it. This is one of the integrated clamps that you squeeze to release. Is there any option for repair other than replacing the whole hose? Since it appears to snake under the intake manifold (?) I really would like to avoid replacing the whole line.

I guess you could use some big fuel/oil resistant hose and clamp it over the top of the tube and the aos, but thats pretty bushleague

Hmm. I might just have to replace the vent line. Anyone have any helpful hints as to how to do that?

AS an FIO When I replaced my AOS I found one half of that attachment had broken. Under normal conditions the hose is held in place by crankcase vacuum. Any pressure opens the PCV on the other end. With that in mind and since mine had not failed in who knows how long, I just reattached. I may replace at next AOS change or if I have access for some job. Probably 6k miles since then and no issue.

I hate those hoses. Once the hose or connector fails, the whole hose really needs to be replaced (if you want to do the job in accordance with what a shop would do).

Looks like I'll replace the whole vent line.

You can buy the clamp from Pelican. It’s cheap and it has an awesome fitting on it for installation.

Are you referring to the clamp for the bellows at the bottom of the AOS? My broken clamp is for one of the vacuum hoses (the lower one) that exit the AOS horizontally. The clamps for those lines are integral to the line. Unfortunately. I ordered a new line and will now figure out how to snake it through the engine to the forward fitting.
