Obc connections

I am trying to install the Poor Man's OBC mod. What is the connector? The one that connects to the gray connector behind the instrument panel. I hope this photo is the right one.

is it a square Molex like this?:

I think you can buy the wire from our host. I just want the connector. Anyone know the Molex number?

THANKS

Some one on here sells the complete wiring harness.

Quick and easy to purchase.

It's actually a VW part, part number: 000.979.010

What Rick3000 said. Molex was a generic name of the connector, however that part number you can order from Pelican, Local Audi, Porsche or VW dealer. PDwight is the member that sells the ready to install harness.

I would just like a source on the connector. I am not interested in paying $13.00 per wire for a $.25 connector that I can solder or crimp on to my wires.

Thanks for the input.

You might try sending Dwight (Pdwight) a PM. He builds really nice, factory like complete harnesses and probably has a source for those connectors.

If you are forced to buy the cable, each will give you 2 connectors (one on each end), so when cut in the middle you'll have 2 connectors for $13.00. Still a rip off, but...

Be advised, there are two different connectors used on the IP side - which one you'll need will depend on the year of your IP. If you get the wrong one (it's slightly larger) it will fit if forced, but it will take some muscle to force it into the connector housing. Ask me how I know.

I PMed him and he never answered. I hear Pdwight is good, but I guess he is not interested in what I want.
