Struggling with front engine lid.
 
I've removed all the nuts from the lid, including the two in the center. It would appear that it would just lift/pop out. The exact opposite. I've tried tugging... pulling... and when I got to prying with the screwdriver I thought I'd better turn to minds far sharper than mine.

Is there a seal behind the lid that, maybe, snugs it into place? Should I just grab a corner and pull with all might? It's like there's a force pulling in into the engine compartment.

I'm not in a pinch... just wanted to take a peek at the belt and other components.

Should just pull straight off. Try prying gently...

there is a rubber gasket between the cover and the bulkhead that can 'adhere' pretty aggressively. pull off and hope for the best.

Thank you. That rubber gasket was aggressive. I simply employed some of that patience I've been reading about.

Never use a screwdriver, invest 10 bucks in a set of trim removal tools.....you find lots of uses for them

LOL. Yes...I should. And, I will. For soooooooooooooo long I've meant to pick up a set, even when at Harbor Freight. Always forgetting... turning to screwdrivers wrapped in a cloth.

I'll be picking up those tools. Today. Thank you for the inspiration.

I find that you sometimes there’s a clip holding on even after you’ve unlatched them. I get my fingers under it and shake while I lift up on it. That will usually loosen them up as you’re pulling up.
