Lug bolts 2 piece or 1

What are the advantages to the oem 2/piece conical bolts vs the aftermarket one piece? If both were made of same material is there a + side to the 2 piece? Searching for longer bolts for some spacers.

ECS has nice bolt and spacer combos. Two piece bolts.

What about a stud and nut solution instead?

Agreed, go to ECS Tuning. Excellent lug bolts and spacers. Plus they sale them in kits to make sure you get the proper length lug bolts.

I've never heard anything good about the 1 piece. Go with 2 piece, ecs is a great choice.

Thanks on ECS but what is the physics behind 2 piece being better than 1 piece?

A two piece bolts allows the bolt to rotate without slowly scraping away the aluminum, magnesium, or unobtainium of your expensive wheel, unlike a one-piece bolt.

What he said.

Getting the right bolt length isn't that hard. Whatever thickness of spacer you run just add that to the standard bolt length. In UK/Europe there are some decent aftermarket versions with the correct collar on ebay. I've been running these for 4 years now.

Read Nine8six comments post #3 in the attached thread. His machining of spacers gives him serious cred on this subject.
