Checking Crank sensor with Tac?

I head somewhere that if your car cranks and does not fire, you can observe tac to take the crankshaft sensor off the table True? How many RPM would you expect.

I have not checked fuel, however I have reviewed Bentley and understand how. I don't know how to verify spark.

I did try to pull codes on an Autel and found nothing.

Any aid appreciated.

One indicator that the CPS might be the problem is that the tach shows no rpm's while turning over to start. It will either be flat (zero rpm's) or bounce around a bit.

These links should help...
