Will a hardtop from a 2006 boxster fit on a 2005 boxster?
 
I'm going to purchase a 2005 boxster and would like to put a hardtop on it. I found a local 2006 boxter hardtop for sale. Would the 2006 hardtop fit on the 2005 model? (Recall that the 2005 was the beginning year of a refreshed design for the boxter.) Does the 2005 boxster come already equipped to add on the hardtop or do I nedd to get some additional parts or modifications to make that happen?

Yes it will as both years are the model 987.

Spinlocks? Had to be added to the 986 for the hardtop. Doubt they were standard on the 987. A 987 hardtop is kind of rare.
