Brake Issue or...

I decided to take the Boxster back to work after lunch since the weather had warmed up a little and to my dismay, when I tried to back out of the drive it was stuck. It felt like I had left a wheel chock under one of the wheels only tighter. I never released the clutch fully as something was definitely grabbing the wheels. I checked under all of the wheels, checked the brakes (what I could see) , ran through the gears, tried to go forward in 1st but the car wouldn't budge and everything looked ok. I decided the heck with this, up'd the revs a little and let the clutch go. A load pop happened and she released. The brakes sounding like they were dragging a little on the rotors like they do after a few days of hard rain but they quickly quieted and she drove fine all the way to work (5 miles). Any ideas what that could have been or what I need to be on the lookout for. Anyone else experienced something like that?

Parking brake was stuck on rotors

You may be right. Even though I released and reset it seveal times I guess it still could have been stuck. I keep it relatively loose and it has never happened before. Thanks for the thought.

Probably rust or excessive wear.
