After water pump replacement temp gauge does't work
Morning Guys,
after a bit of a struggle I replaced my water pump yesterday... (water pump was very noisy) Now it is quiet which I am happy with. BUT since refilling the car with coolant the temp gauge hasn't worked and has flashed at me every second. there are no leaks. I plugged my odb2 device in and the car is running at about 88 decrees Centigrade, the engine fan still kicks in as does the front fan.. so everything seems good except the temp gauge... does anyone have any suggestions? thanks Peter |
Do you have the holding tank full between the max and minimum lines? the light indicates low coolant. Did you open the burp valve between the coolant and oil fill when you were adding coolant? I did my water pump this past Sunday.

I have a similar coolant indicator problem, replaced my motor due to internal failure oil leaking into my coolant. Afterwards the coolant indicator does not function. Replaced temperature sensor on the engine, instrument cluster, and coolant reservoir, coolant indicator does not work. Using Durametric Diagnostic Tool for Porsche the indicator can be switched on/off. Any suggestions?
