door jam differences
 
Hi all,

what are the differences in the door jams on these 986s?
The silver one is a 2001 and the blue a 2000. On the 2000 model the crevice seems deeper with some king of plug inside? Thanks

That is the arm for the top. It looks like a ball when the top is down.

So it is visible in the 2000 model and gone in the 2001.

I have been looking at these lately and drove a 2001 last week. Very fun cars.

I've been in the air cooled world for the last 20 years.

I wasn't sure what you were referring to in your original post. In the picture below, I've circled in purple what alm001 is referring to. When I read your original post, I thought you were referring to what I've circled in red. I think what is circled in red is just a reflection of the latch below on the jamb, and due to the lighting that area looks deeper than the silver car, but in actuality both door jambs are the same.
