Coolant shortage during flush

2004 base version

I am doing a coolant flush and followed the steps posted on Pellican, Burners Car, and road and race.

Only 3.5 gallons of coolant drained from the system. The manual calls for 4.75. 1.25 gallons seems like a lot of fluid to be sitting in the system.

Likewise following the filling and bleeding procedure about 3.5 gallons of distilled water went in.

Any thoughts.

Thanks

Unless you plan to either entirely dismantle the system, or stand the car on its rear bumper while it is draining, you have gotten out all you are going to.
