The sound disappears every 3 second!??
 

Hi,
I'm new to the forum, and hope you can help me with a problem.

I have a Boxster from '99 with a PCM system (radio, cassette, CD, phone and navigation).

The sound is fine if I only turn the key one position to power the electronics, but when I start the engine the sound starts to disappear every 2/3 second and comes back on again?? Very annoying :confused:

Hope someone in here can help me with a solution.

That awfully sounds like your ignition switch (key/barrel) have started playing funny on ya. This assembly is prone to failure and often cause contact issue as you've described. No idea what causes the failure (don't care) and whether it can be repair or not. Folks normally replace this part all together and those weird contact problem(s) often disappear.
