So I am getting ready to take care of my driver's seat. Has wear on the left too bolster with a small half dime size hole. I look d online and saw a video from scratch wizard that looked really nice. Then I saw Colorbond on Amazon and the reviews were really good.
I want to know what others have done as far as repairing cracking leather and small hole repair and what dye worked best as a DIY. I realize that I may have to dye interior seat as the car is 18 y/o and a convertible. Pic of repair.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1503699255.jpg

They have filler paste that dries and you then sand before applying the dye.

Oh nice. Your pics look really nice. Did you recolor the entire seats or spot and blend?

One of the problems I anticipate is that by bottom cushions are perf'd and have pretty defined cracks that I wonder the best way to fix cracks and respray as well? I'm ready to get started though. Your seats are inspiring!

I only treated the areas that were bad. In my case, those were the upper and lower bolsters. Regarding the cracks along the perforations, there are kits which include material you can insert under the leather and glue the leather on top which will strengthen the area. You can then fill in the cracks with filler, sand and then apply the dye. To retain the perforations, you may want to buy a box of wooden tooth picks and insert them into the perforations before applying filler. Take your time and I am sure you will like the results. LeatherWorld Technologies can also be used as a spray in an airbrush. That might work better for the factory holes on the seats. But actually this dye is very runny, almost as thin as water. So using the sponge method might not clog up the holes anyway. As for the cracks the putty they sell is supposed to fill them in very good. You may have to do a few coats of putty to get them really filled in. Kinda like doing drywall.

I appreciate all the info from everyone. I thought about the toothpick, safety pin method also.

Looking at my seats, they really aren't bad at all being a 18 y/o convertible. Will post pics of progress and final look
