Hi. I'm new. I don't have a Porsche right now, but I'll probably get one later on this year. I'm just here to learn more about Boxsters. This is what I'm driving now.

Yes I'll miss the power (Torque specifically). My car is a a brute. It has raw power, but I'm ready for something a little more refined & overall better quality. I haven't test drove one, but I've always wanted one ever since I saw it in a Playboy magazine 6 years ago. :D

My Cobra is an 2001.

Thats thing has some serious rubber in the back. 315's are WIDE! Stock vettes have 275's for comparisons sake. I bet you can lauch that thing hard with that big of a contact patch to the ground. Thats a really nice looking mustang btw. What kind of boxster are you looking at? Since you are used to big power, I would recammend the "S" version.

I've been reading through the threads here & the consensus seems to be that the base Boxster is better because of the 5-Speed instead of the 6-Speed.

I'm undecided at this point. I want to learn more about these cars before I make a final decision. I do know I want the Seal Grey color.

I have heard that the 5 speed is better as well, but the 6 speed seems to work great for me. No complaints here. One thing that I do want is even more power( I am quite fond of quick acceleration). I also think handling and good looks should be of paramount importance as well(hence the reason I picked the box s). I am glad I went with the 260hp boxster s as the regular boxster would have been too slow for me. The boxster chassis and brakes are capable of handling much more power than what porsche hands out stock. I plan on adding about 40hp through some mods. This should put me about where I want to be.
