Rod knock

I have a rod knock, 2000 2.7 should I fix it or do an engine upgrade? I was told that the audi 4.2 V8 from a 88 to 93 doner car will bolt up to the tranny, what are your thoughts? I just painted it and registered it, I dont have to smog it

Rod knock? Do you mean lifters? Did it just start? I had an 01 with lifter issue. Its about 1700 to $2000 per side. Depends if you want your Porsche to stay a Porsche or in appearance only.

any of the audi v8s will bolt up, all depends on your skill set, if you have to pay someone to do it then the dollars will outway fixing your old motor, I am doing the swap with an 01 4.2, just sold my old motor yesterday, checkout the facebook page v8 audi boxster, guy in the UK has documented it well,
Cheers Russ...
