Clutch information

I have a new to me 03 Boxster S. I has 77000 miles on the odometer. The clutch operates perfectly. Compared to two other boxster bases that I have driven the clutch on this S takes at least twice the effort to push it to the floor. My question is:
does the S come with a more heavy duty clutch than the base Boxsters? Or, is it more likely the clutch pressure plate was replaced?

Your clutch assist spring has probably been removed.

It is possible that your pressure plate is towards the end. My clutch required lots of effort just before it failed. In fact, I put a crack in the fork from pushing so hard and also blew the slave cylinder.

Replaced the clutch assembly - my leg is now back to its normal size.

Or its still there, but broken. A fairly common problem. It sits in the clutch pedal assembly and is relatively easy and inexpensive to replace. That as long as you are nimble enough to work under the dash.
