I won the fight with my HEADLIGHTS!!!

So, here's the thing... I picked up this Boxster for a full resto-(light-mod) project. I knew what I was getting into with restoring a 986/996 and I was good with the costs involved... Well except for new factory xenon headlights. NOPE... I will not spend that kinda cash on that plastic!!! These lights were NASTY, I mean jacked-up bad. They were totally yellow and brown. Also they were pealing very badly. I tried restoring them myself a few times with store-bought kits, but I had no luck. Then I decided to let a local auto shop have a go at them. Well, they did an amazing job. I would have never thought these lights would ever look good again, but they came out looking new. I had them done in March and they are still looking great. So if you have a set of ugly eyes on your 986, it might be worth the trip to a reputable bodyshop to see what they can do for you. I know a lot of you guys would take this on yourself... But at the replacement cost on these light, when it came to sanding I wanted to leave it up to someone who has some experience with doing this specific job... Thank everyone and have a good one!!!

Garage
Now replace the corner trims.

I did a resto on mom's 987 and SO's Mini. The store kits need to be augmented with more sandpaper, but going from 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000 grits then to polish and protect will get the same results.
