If you had to trade your boxster

What car would you trade your boxster for? A realistic trade, something within its price range.

steved0x 06-29-2017 12:31 PM

996TT or 996 GT3

Oh, in that case, nothing :) Maybe an Exocet (Ariel Atom style exoskeleton car built on a Miata running gear)

stephen wilson 06-29-2017 12:34 PM

A newer Boxster S or GTS.

rfuerst911sc 06-29-2017 12:46 PM

Wouldn't mind trying a Cayman but I can't afford another Raby engine ! So I will stick with the beast .

WillH 06-29-2017 12:48 PM

Nice 928 5speed.

kk2002s 06-29-2017 01:17 PM

I have been thinking of something more practical but sporty
5-6 year old Audi S4 or newer A5

Anker 06-29-2017 02:25 PM

A 981 Boxster S!

dghii 06-29-2017 02:26 PM

Most likely, another Boxster. Best sports car I've ever owned. Still as much fun as the day I bought it 9 years ago.

Thing is, the few times I've considered selling mine and buying another, one of my major reluctances is getting rid of the known for the unknown.

The Radium King 06-29-2017 02:29 PM

spec miata.

Lew 06-29-2017 03:55 PM

That's easy! Anything Porsche.

bwdz 06-29-2017 04:22 PM

Easy, Boxster worth 2-10k, nothing in that price range comes to mind as being equally fun and I have other fun, cheap cars that have their own attributes but just not parting with the Boxster till I step up to a newer one, maybe.

Dr. Acula 06-29-2017 04:48 PM

Same value? ND Miata

Trading up? 2017 Land Cruiser or maybe a Lexus LC500

Trading down? NC Miata

algiorda 06-29-2017 04:51 PM

I like to start controversy...I think I'd like a 718

Hawaiian Driver 06-29-2017 09:53 PM

Definitely a 981 GTS manual transmission

TeamOxford 06-29-2017 10:18 PM

'09 Cayman S, with sports chrono, and PDK transmission with paddle shifters.

And I'm referring to a car that wouldn't break the bank.

Just sayin'..................

No Trade
No Sell
My Roadster

Silly idea. Wouldn't even trade my boxster for a Lambo that needs a $25k clutch pack.

Box is staying in the family here, priceless little fun car man

My thoughts exactly!

But since the price is way above the boxster, I'm never parting with her. The 996TT/GT3 will become her brother instead:rolleyes:

BIGJake111 06-30-2017 11:28 AM

If you had to trade your boxster

Boxster is best value for money. Even trade with anything else would be a downgrade.

Somebody on here got a 996TT for $29K I think, I can't think of the name, and Trendy996 has one too I think. I got a ride in one at the track by someone that really knew how to drive, holy $%^&*

Nine8Six 06-30-2017 01:12 PM

Did the TT 'passenger' ride also, and can't remember anything of the ride. Man did I survive a lot of things in this lifetime....

Respect the King of the Roadster!

thstone 06-30-2017 03:14 PM

Same value - Air cooled 911 race car (I'd probably even have some cash left over from the Boxster sale for a truck and trailer)...

Another Apexspeed fan? I am trying to get my Van Dieman RF80 together for next season's Club Formula Ford racing !

I actually was strongly considering buying a Mk1 Audi TT Quattro with the baseball glove leather. If I got it, one of the Boxsters was probably going to have to go. I waited so long considering the options that it was already sold when I finally inquired about it.

Then I got in my Arctic Silver/Red leather '99 that I had considered parting with (the Tiptronic one) and had no regrets.

http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1499042242.jpg

I may have to end up with 6 Roadsters if I find the right TT.

jdraupp 07-05-2017 03:25 AM

Something within its price range? Nah. But in about 4 years, my plan is to swap it plus a new loan for a 997 or a Shelby gt 350.

Frank N 07-05-2017 03:53 AM

I looked long and hard for a fun second car under 20k. The 986 S was the clear choice to me.

all_mota 07-05-2017 05:18 AM

Kristin Fisher from FOX News!

....but if it had to be another car, then it's money towards an anthracite colored MK4 Supra(twin turbo of course).

Exactly....

The correct answer for the number of cars to have is always, n + 1....

For me, my next car that will sit next to the Boxster will be an F348ts, and then maybe another Corvette. Who knows.

Mike

redciv1 07-05-2017 06:07 AM

I would go for a Nissan Skyline R33 since prices are good since 25 years not up now.

flouese 07-05-2017 06:47 AM

Mid-80's Ferrari 308GT or an early Dino. When I went to buy my first car while in high school, I went to the Fiat/Ferrari dealership in Miami and fell in love with the Dino. Unfortunately, all I could afford was a 1973 Fiat 850 Sports Spyder. Funny thing, looking at that Fiat on eBay, they go for more what I paid new; $2736 out of the show room!

My sons have been after me to get a new Corvette.

What is the comparison like between the Boxster and the Corvette other than pure power? The Vette seems so much bigger and heavier.

BRAN 07-05-2017 08:27 AM

...it could ONLY be for another PORSCHE Boxster/Cayman/911.

PORSCHE Panamera (maybe Macan, not so much Cayenne) could ONLY be additions to my PORSCHE fleet ;)

I had a C6 for a while. The Corvette gives so much more torque and power than the Boxster. That being said, the Boxster handles so much better.

Corvette is coming out with a mid engined version soon, and that may really tip the scales...

Also, from an affordability standpoint, the Corvette is much easier on the wallet....

Different cars...I like them both....for different reasons. LOL.

Mike

Absolutely nothing in the Boxsters current price range. I had thought of selling it and getting an older 911. I am rethinking that now. The 997.2 cabs are why down in price and a great car. But, it would take a lot more cash to jump from the Boxster to that so I think I'll keep it for another 16 years.
