curb rub repair of wheels

Hi all, I am new to the forum. I just got a 2000 Boxster with 42,000 miles on it. It is in pretty good shape, but there are a few places where the factory 17" wheels have rubbed the curbs. I have sanded the abrasions so that they are smooth, but would now like to get some sort of touch-up paint to blend in the areas. I know I can get the whole wheel redone, but I want to do the fix on the cheap. Any ideas for getting matching paint to blend in the repairs, thanks.

welcome to my story. The tech at my porsche dealership said the wheel color doesnt have a paint code. I also sanded my wheel and repainted it (myself, with a spray gun). I went to o'reilys and had them use the paint camera thing and that turned out horribly wrong (no flat place on the wheel so it can seal out all the light). so we went through about 1000 samples and got close. It is still not perfect (just a little duller than the others), but what we did was use aluminum color and binder. we matched the porsche center cap with a GM color book but it came out not as bright a silver. I dont know where to find spare wheel paint so if anyone knows... tell us. It is one reason im buying new wheels.

I believe that the Wurst Silver Lacquer Paint is the proper color for Porsche painted wheels. Check out: http://www.autogeek.net/wurth-silver-paint.html
If Sanded, the wheel will be out of balance, so be sure to have it checked before remounting a Tire. Hope this helps...
