Question about a Nav System

I have a 2006 Boxster S and it appears that under the front hood the prewire is in for a navagation system. Does anyone know how much that option would cost with installation?

This should help give you an idea regarding costs for parts:

As for labor...it's gonna be expensive...probably $1,000's.

If you'd ordered/got it from the factory with the optional PCM cost is:

PCM 2.1 (code P16) $2,970

PCM 2.1 w/extended Navi (P23) $3,175

Always soooooo expensive to go the Tequipment route!

Pick yourself up a good portable navigation device. I've found the Porsche system to be nothing special, and certainly not worth $3000 when other makers provide better ones for a lot less. If I had to do it over again, I would have skipped the navigation and put my money into other options.

I got a top of the line Eclipse AVN 6600 double din nav installed for a whopping $1600. Granted, that's not including labor because I knew the owner of the shop that did it... But it's 500x better than a portable system, and looks a heck of a lot nicer too.

If I was going to put navigation in my Boxster I would go with this :

For $1800 to $2200, this thing is awesome !
