Transmission Question

Hope someone has a crystal ball...

I took my 2004 6speed to the transmission shop to get the 1st to 2nd gear fixed.

They replaced a bunch of parts.

We installed a new duel mass fly wheel, pressure plate and friction plate.

Now here is the new problem..

When in neutral we are getting a loud ticking noise from the very back of
the transmission.

The transmission shop removed the unit and dismantled it,they can't find anything wrong???

Any suggestions? Anyone ever had any issues like this?

I dropped $4000 and it still doesn't work.

We are open to any suggestions. Any at all!!!!!

I don't want to start throwing parts at it.

Please HELP!

Hey.

Only in neutral? From the rear of the gear box cover? Did it make this sound before? Shifting fixed? Can you feel the noise in the case or just a noise? There's a lot of stuff going on in there.

We have not driven the car as we didn't want to cause further damage.
I don't recall any tick prior but there may have been be a slight one?
It shifts through the gears smoothly. A little stiffer/crisper than before but I assumed it was because of the new parts and being nice and tight.
When shifting in neutral you do hear noise from the transmission but as I recall it is the same
as before the repairs.
I used a big screw driver as a stethoscope and when listening on the driver side at the very
back closer to the top is where it is the loudest.

On a side note once we heard the noise We have not driven the car as we didn't want to cause damage.

I hope this will give someone the insight to what my problem is.
