Hesitating Engine
Engine hesitates up on pressing the gas pedal fast, however its fine if the gas pedal is pressed down slow. Sometimes it hesitates in 3rd gear on low speeds.
What I have done: replaced coils, plugs and tubes (tubes were leaking little oil) and replaced fuel filter Still the same problem Any suggestions on what my next step should be and best way to check it would be appreciated. 2001 Boxster 2.7 80k miles |
May need to clean the carbon from the throttle body. I had this on my other vehicle.
Do you get rough idle at times? Damn 2% ethanol dirties the entire fuel system. |

Try cleaning the MAF sensor as well, that worked for me. Make sure you use the proper cleaner. I had significant hesitation, but after cleaning the MAF, the throttle body and the idle control valve, hesitation is gone.

Have a look around for air leaks while you're there as well.

Check the intake for debris. I know that this sounds painfully obvious, but I had a similar problem and struggled with it for weeks. Turned out to be some debris that was sucked into the intake and clogging the air flow. Its worth a 30 sec check just to make sure.
Have you checked the fuel pump for pressure and flow? |
