Distorted Screen
Hi.
Can anyone suggest how to get my climate control screen to clear up?
I caused this a few weeks ago when I was whipping down the interior. I did not squirt any cleaner in there, but the rag did have some on it. I also don't think I pressed too hard, but apparently I must have. Since the initial damage, the screen has cleared quite a bit, but this image here is pretty much how it's looked for over a week. So I'd say it's not getting much better now.
Any ideas on how I might get this to clear up?
Thanks!!

Looks like you have a damaged climate control LCD.
One of these https://modulemaster.com/rebuilds/shop/comfort/lcd-repair-kits/porsche-lcd-kit/ will fix you right up.

How on earth does that work? By the looks of the pictures it looks like you have to disassemble the entire climate controller, yet the write up indicates otherwise.
Thanks for the reply.

Yes, you have to remove and disassemble the climate control unit to replace the screen. It's easy.

I just repaired using an new LCD kit for $60. Piece of cake, took about 20 minutes and works perfectly.

The LCD repair kits are easy to install as long as you take your time and are detailed.
I did mine last Summer--well worth the effort.

If you buy a used climate control module there's no guarantee it won't do the same thing to you down the road. Best to get the repair kit. I got it and took mine apart with instructions provided and it was no big deal.

If you buy a used climate control module there's no guarantee it
will even work in your car, not all the same. I did this and the control unit was not compatable with my car. I would up exchanging the LCD screen only using the one I purchased as a donar
