i found this. i know they are having record years with the cheyenne. maybe... they will lower a 911 T to around 45k as a trade-in incentive for boxster owners.

By AUTOWEEK

Porsche boss Wendelin Wiedeking has quashed long-running rumors that the Cayenne sport/utility vehicle will be fitted with a diesel engine to boost its appeal in Europe.

Wiedeking recently told AutoWeek there are “absolutely no plans” to use a modified version of either Volkswagen’s 5.0-liter V10 or Audi’s 4.0-liter V8 diesel engines in the strong-selling SUV.

Despite a significant drop in Boxster and 911 sales, Porsche sold a record 66,803 vehicles worldwide in its 2002-2003 fiscal year ending July 31, including 29,024 in the United States. That’s up 12,568 vehicles or 23.2 percent over the previous fiscal year, thanks to 20,603 Cayenne sales during its first eight months on the market. And yes, Porsche made a profit.
