Clutch Engagement-Top or Bottom of Pedal
I have test driven a couple Boxster S. One the clutch engaged at the very top of the pedal stroke. The other the clutch engaged near the bottom of the pedal stroke (only needed to lift a short distance). The latter was also much smoother pedal feel and engagement.
What can I decipher by these differences? |
Mine's in the middle. 2003 Porsche Boxster S. I've also replaced the clutch before and it's always been in the middle.
If the clutch spring is broken, it can make it feel like it's engaging at a much lower point. I'm actually looking to sell my car. PM if you're interested. I'm located in Los Angeles. |
In my Dodge, engagement is up top, in my VW, in the middle, in the Boxster, toward the bottom.

It should be somewhere nearer the middle of the pedal, not near the bottom. If it is near the bottom of the pedal in any car there's something wrong.

Mine has always been near the top. The only time is was near the bottom is when my throw-out bearing disintegrated

Mine's somewhere in the middle. Original clutch at 73K miles.
