Crank Position Sensor Question (Hoping For Quick Answer)
I need to know fast, so I Can order on time. Would the Crankshaft Position Sensor from a 03-08 (986 Part Number lol) work on a 01 Porsche Boxster S? They look identical. Even the Part numbers are almost the same except the last number is different. But the Price between the two is INSANE.
I'm talking about 98660611204 vs 98660611202 |
986-606-112-02 is correct for your car, and the price differential between those two sensors is less than $10..

And I know the 02 is the correct one but I was wanting to find out what the heck is different. Since they are both 986/M96 Parts. |
Simple: They changed the DME. And we only see a $10 difference, but that is from our supplier.

TY All! Got my Crank Sensor and new Ignition Switch on the way now. Hopefully the Ign Switch is what is causing my battery drain. I'm tired of hunting that thing down and killing brand new high dollar batteries.
