Oil level not readying on dipstick jimmy..

So i bought a 98 boxster out of a salvage yard last week. This car has sit for just over 12 years. The boxster was never parted out. Previous owner hit a fence and mashed the rh front. Not bad. My question is the engine oil was drained as all salvage yards do. So i called my local porsche dealer and got the specs and capacity. I added 6 qts of oil and it does not ready on the dipstick. so i added a couple more, still nothing. I know what your thinking look under the car, no i have. not sure what to do. I would like to try and fire this thing up, but unsure. Any suggestions?

Sometimes the dip stick tube breaks. The stick will go out the opening instead of going to were it is suppose to. This will show no oil. Look on the passenger side to see if it isn`t broken.Mine went through the hole and landed on the positive post on the starter.
Fortunately Woody had one in stock.

^^^ This

This happened this past summer to 78F350 (Jon) when he rescued the car that is now my Spec Boxster build. His solution after adding oil and it not showing on the dipstick was to check the dash display with the ignition turned to the first position. It showed full, and sure enough, he had to drain oil from the engine prior to starting.

Check the dash display before you go too far down the rabbit hole.
