Shift knob insert loose

Morning guys,
I have the standard 99 silver aluminum with black leather shift knob, but the metal insert on the top is loose and moves around when shifting.

Can this top piece be removed and epoxied or something?

Any ideas?

thanks!

I used silicone to fix mine.

Boxster's came with several different styles of shift knobs - not sure what you're dealing with exactly. Post a picture?

Thanks, I have experience rebuilding a different style of Boxster shift knob.

Maybe someone will chime in with experience with this particular style and problem...
